SIGMM: AWARDING THE BEST SOCIAL MEDIA REPORTERS FOR ACM MM!
The SIGMM community is promoting the use of Social Media in two directions. On the one hand, official SIGMM channels on Social Media are being frequently used for dissemination. On the other hand, the SIGMM Executive Committee, in coordination with the SIGMM Records team, have adopted a strategy to encourage the use of Social Media by the community during SIGMM-sponsored conferences. It consists of awarding the attendee(s) who provides the best coverage of the conference on Social Media. In the case of ACM MM, two awards will be given! The awardee will be requested to write a post-conference report, to be published on SIGMM Records, and will be granted with a free registration for one of the SIGMM conferences of his/her choice within a period of one year. The requirements and criteria for the awards are specified here.
Up to now, the list of awardees include: Miriam Redi (ICMR 2017), Christian Timmerer (MMSYS 2017), Coner Keighrey and Benoit Huet (MM 2017), Gwendal Simon (MMSYS 2018) and Cathal Gurring (ICMR 2018). The reports can be found at the SIGMM Records website: http://records.mlab.no/
Let’s contribute to spread the reach of @SIGMM and @ACMMM18 around the globe! #SIGMM #ACMMM18

The student travel grant submission deadline has been extended until 5 Sept 2018. In addition to SIGMM support, NSF is providing funding for full time students attending colleges and universities in the US. We particularly encourage women and minorities to apply. Although students with papers in the conference are given preference, we will consider others whose research is closely related to ACM MM topics.
